Sending Email on TechHost Cloud

Overview

To maintain the highest quality of service and protect the reputation of our IP addresses, TechHost Cloud implements restrictions on outbound email traffic. By default, outbound connections on Port 25 (SMTP) are blocked for all cloud instances.

This is an industry-standard security measure designed to prevent spam and malicious activities, ensuring that our network remains clean and your instances perform optimally.

Using Third-Party Email Services (Recommended)

If your applications or websites need to send transactional emails, newsletters, or notifications, we strongly recommend using a reputable third-party email delivery service (SMTP Relay) such as Amazon SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, or Google Workspace.

To facilitate this, TechHost Cloud leaves outbound Port 465 (SMTPS) and Port 587 (SMTP Submission) open by default. You can configure your applications to connect to your preferred SMTP provider without requesting any port unblocks.

Requesting Port 25 Removal

If you have a legitimate business requirement to run your own Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) and send emails directly from your TechHost Cloud instance, you can request to have the Port 25 restriction lifted.

To request the unblocking of Port 25, please open a Support Ticket and provide the following information:

  1. Target Instance: The exact name or IP address of the VPS/Instance.

  2. Detailed Use Case: A clear explanation of why you need to send emails directly instead of using a third-party relay service.

  3. DNS Configuration: Confirmation that you have configured proper email authentication records, including a valid rDNS (PTR) record, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

  4. Policy Agreement: Your commitment to strictly adhere to our Anti-Spam Policy.

Note: TechHost Cloud reserves the right to deny requests to unblock Port 25 if the provided justification is insufficient or if the account has a history of policy violations. If spam activity is detected after unblocking, the port will be restricted again and the instance may be suspended.
